The 6th Asia-pacific Tea Competition was held in Beijing on April 17th
On April 17th, the 6th Asia-pacific Tea Competition was held in Evaluation Room of Beijing Tea Company. 


 
This competition is jointly organized by the organizing committee of China(Beijing) Tea and Tea Ceremony Exhibition, Embassy of Nepal, Sri Lanka Tea Board, National Tea and Coffee Development Board of Nepal, Tea Research Institute of Kenya AgriculturalLivestock Research Organization, Malaysia Tea Association, Australian Tea Masters Association, Danish Tea Association, and Korea Tea Academy.
 


 
The tea judges are experienced and famous in China and Sri Lanka as follow:
Mr. Lu Chengyin, Vice Director of Tea Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Vice President of Zhejiang Provincial Tea Research Institute, a member of the 9th Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Zhejiang Province, a member of the 10th Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Zhejiang Province.
Ms Sun Danwei, the Inheritor of Jasmine Tea of China Intangible Cultural Heritage, National First-grade Tea Evaluation Expert, Senior Tea Processing Technician, Master of Chinese Traditional Skill, and Former General Manager of Wuyutai Tea Co., Ltd.
Mr. Lv Xianjun, the National Senior Tea Judge, Senior Technician and Quality Engineer for Tea Processing, Inheritor of Beijing Jasmine Tea Blending Technique of China Intangible Cultural Heritage, and the Vice Manager of Beijing Ershang Jinghua Tea Industry Co., Ltd. 
Ms Shen Hong, the National First-grade Tea Evaluation Expert, Senior Technician and Quality Engineer for Tea Processing, Senior Technician for Tea Sommelier, Inheritor of Beijing Flower Tea Blending Technique of China Intangible Cultural Heritage, and obtains the Special Government Allowances of Beijing city.

Mr. Sampath Perera, the Second Secretary–Tea Promotion, Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing. He has 5 years sales manager experience in Sri Lankan Company before joined the Sri Lanka Tea Board. He has excelled his career at Sri Lanka Tea Board for the past 15 years and he see himself as a perfect fit for the said tea tasting Judge Panel. His Educational qualifications, work experience and the knowledge of the industries makes him a suitable professional, and he will be a valuable asset in a think tank of the Embassy. 
 

There is 190 tea samples attending the competition. The awarding ceremony will be held on April 24th on the 13th Beijing Tea Expo.
