A new project was sanctioned by the Govt. of Assam to set up a dedicated Training and Research Center for Small Tea Growers (STGs) at Tocklai to cater to all R&D and training needs of this important sector. As a part of this project, Tocklai initiated a series of field-training cum demonstration programmes for STGs at an inaugural function held at Pulibor, Golaghat on June 14th. A joint initiative of the Tea Directorate of the Govt. of Assam and Tocklai, the workshop marks the first operational measure towards setting up of the Training and Research Center at Tocklai.
